I encountered a weird softlock bug in the taxi mode where I parked the car in front of a pillar when picking up a passenger. When the camera locked to show the passenger getting in, it was positioned so that the car wasn't showing. The occupant just kinda despawned after walking forward instead of getting into the car, so I couldn't do anything.
Encountered another strange bug when I chose "restart game" in the pause menu too. I automatically picked up a passenger when I entered their radius for some reason, but it didn't really count? I could still pick up another passenger, which caused the original one to appear big and stacked on top of the car. Subsequent passengers would swap places, as in I drop the passenger off, but the first one gets off instead of the one that I just picked up and gave me the destination. They would alternate between being huge and tiny for some reason. Really bizarre bug.
Hey there Zoltier, thank you for pointing this out.
In your first bug, did the passanger spawn into the seat and allow the game to continue normally? This is a failsafe that teleports the passenger into the car if they cannot reach the car on their own within five seconds (I did not program customer pathfinding, they simply “run” directly towards the car. Because of this, sometimes they might get stuck).
I cannot seem to recreate your second bug. Can you please describe your prerequisite actions that led to this occurrence? Has this happened agian since your last playthrough? If possible, it would be very helpful if you can capture this bug on video so I can best diagnose the issue.
Again, thank you for playing and taking the time to share these issues. Please don’t hesitate to let me know if you run into another one!
In regards to the first bug, the game wouldn't continue at all. The passenger completely disappeared but never actually entered the car, so I was stuck with the cutscene technically still going, the game timer frozen, and no inputs enabled except pausing. I could move the camera around in photo mode, but the passenger was not in the car, just the driver. It was a passenger spawn point by the the parking garage drop-off area. Important to note is that the pillar I was next to was not between the car and the passenger, just behind the car and causing an awkward camera angle during the cutscene. I took this screenshot when it happened of the locked cutscene view but didn't think to attach it, apologies. Is it possible the car unloaded or something due to being off camera and caused the failsafe to fail? I do recall that the passenger walked forward towards the camera for about 5 seconds before disappearing, which I assume now was because of the teleport failsafe.
In regards to the second bug, it happened when I restarted the taxi mode from the pause menu right after the first bug, but maybe it was just complete coincidence. The passenger radius that I drove into was very close to the starting point if I recall correctly (as in like not even a full car's length ahead), so maybe it was something to do with stuff still setting up in the background? That's pretty much all that happened. I restarted in the pause menu after the softlock, a new taxi game starts, and the german shepherd girl passenger automatically gets into the car when I drive into the pick-up radius right in front of me. I haven't had it happen again so far.
Hey there stefatum, thanks for playing! I’m glad you enjoy the game.
I am currently working on v002 right now, it’ll come with a few much needed QoL upgrades, bugfixes, and new cars, among other things. ETA unknown, but I’m guesstimating that it’ll happen sometime this summer. Stay tuned!
This game is a blast! Speeding around the sunny metropolis of San Dorito and using my inner logic to deliver fresh baked bread is all I want. It's not a matter of them and us, anyone can enjoy playing this game! I will definitely be playing this again way down the line in 2025. This game would have earned a 10 from me in 2010, but the fact that it was developed by one person in 2023 is even better! Will this game change the world? Yeah yeah yeah yeah YEAH!
I like this A LOT. Even though it's not done, I LOVE the color pallet, the bright sunny look. The highways. It reminds me of a cool sunny Miami or Los Angeles or Honolulu Hawaii.
LOL, the drifting is a bit insane but i'm learning to enjoy it. Maybe tighten up steering just a bit.
Thank you for not putting a damage meter on the car. If you want to truely make this a"wacky" racer, make it so that crashing into things does not slow down the vehicle. That will keep the momentum up.
I like the characters too and I hope you put some NPCs or other cars on the road as well. At these highspeeds the crashes would be incredible.
This is like sonic+usps+need4speed. Good job I'm following this.

already a huge fan of the latest update! the character creation is a very nice touch (my team’s name is Ryeders on the Storm)
There’s a bug (?) where the body of the car wildly spins around when driving, felt like it should be something that could be looked into!
For some reason the MP3 file adding isn't working for me and I'm not tech savvy enough to know why. : (
I love this new version
The character creation system is a very nice addition.
The game doesn't feel as rough as the previous version, it feels good to drive the car.
the wait was worth it
P.S
By any chance, is there a discord server for the game?
need for sneed
Ever since outrun, i've missed having a waifu as a passenger, stoked to have a cutie back on the passenger side.
The feeling of speed is great in this one, the controls/car reactions also feel very responsive!
Really nice work! Looking forward for further development :)
vroom with a cute waifur
nice prototype
Please keep working on this!
